FootGolf Season Opens APRIL 16th, 2016.
FootGolf is a combination of soccer and golf. The game is played on the golf course with a regulation #5 soccer ball on shortened holes with 21-inch diameter cups.
The rules largely correspond to the rules of golf. FootGolf as a game is played throughout the world in many different forms, but as a sport, it is regulated by the Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG). The American FootGolf League (AFGL) is the exclusive member of the FIFG and governing body for the sport of FootGolf in the United States.
Who invented FootGolf and when?
The concept of FootGolf has been around a long time and almost everybody "invented" FootGolf somehow. Sports enthusiasts create different names ("soccergolf," "footballgolf," "kick-n-golf," "footy-golf," "footie," futbolgolf," "golfoot," and more!). It is played as a GAME in parks, farms, on the beach or even on the streets, using different kinds of balls or devices and under their own rules. In fact, there are more than thirty countries playing it as a game at different levels and with different rules.
Foster Golf Links became accreditated and certified in 2014 by the AFGL as an official FootGolf course in the US.
Do I have to wear the FootGolf uniform each time I play?
It's optional, however it can add to the enjoyment of the game. The uniform is basically a classic golf uniform.
Typical wear is a flat (Hogan style) cap, collared shirt, golf style pants, knickers or shorts, knee high argyle socks and indoor soccer or turf soccer shoes.
Cleats are not allowed under any circumstances.
Can I play FootGolf anywhere with any ball?
Yes, but FootGolf is a regulated international sport that is played with a soccer ball (Reg. FIFA soccer ball #5), and on approved AFGL courses.

The player farthest from the hole is the first to kick the ball.
The order of play is established based on the score of the previous hole. The player with the best score will kick off first on the next hole followed by the second, etc..
If a ball lands in a water hazard (annotated by a red line or red stakes) either replace the ball within 2 yards from where the ball entered the hazard or from its previous position. The player incurs a one stroke penalty.
